A passion to reach out and help make a difference in the lives of women

reaching out to vulnerable women and those at risk of sexual exploitation or in prostitution

An Important Update

We have some difficult news to share with our community.

After more than a decade of service, the Board of Trustees of Women on the Frontline Ministries (WOFM) has decided to close WOFM’s operations. WOFM will cease operational activities on 3 September 2026, after which we will begin the formal process of winding down the organisation.

This decision was not taken lightly. The funding environment has grown increasingly challenging, and after carefully considering WOFM’s resources and its ability to continue delivering our work responsibly, the Board concluded that an intentional, orderly close is the right course for the organisation.

Since 2013, WOFM has walked alongside vulnerable women and families across East London, supporting them through difficult circumstances and helping them find hope, strength and a way forward. None of that would have been possible without the dedication of our staff, volunteers, trustees, partners, funders and supporters.

Whether you gave financially, volunteered your time, partnered with us, referred women to our services, shared our work, prayed for us, or simply encouraged us along the way, you have been part of the WOFM story, and we are deeply grateful.

An organisation closing does not erase what was built. The relationships formed, the lessons learned and the lives touched through this work remain. The WOFM chapter is ending but its impact carries on in the people who were part of it.

Thank you for believing in the vision of WOFM and for standing with us.

MORE DETAILS

Women on the Frontline Ministries is a Christian-led charity, with a passion to reach out and help make a difference in the lives of vulnerable women who may be involved in prostitution, or at risk of sexual exploitation, suffering domestic abuse and abandonment, and those who have exited/seeking to exit prostitution. As an organisation we want women to know their self-worth, that they can make new choices to empower them to overcome barriers to change, and for them to know that we care about their wellbeing.  We will treat them with love, respect and a non-judgemental attitude. Our Christian values help shape who we are as a service provider.

We believe that every woman has the right to live a life of freedom from fear or any form of violence, and deserves dignity and respect regardless of their circumstances.

Covenant Scripture

“That we will love the Lord our God with all our heart will all our soul and with all our mind, and to love our neighbour as ourselves.

– Matthew’s gospel 22:37-39
